Our address is 539 Pine Street, Lockport, NY 14094. It's a 35-minute drive from the downtown conference venue with unfortunately poor public transportation in the evening. Consider carpooling. Google Maps Directions.
If you have some extra time, Lockport is kind of interesting--a set of locks downtown (one mile north on Pine Street) allow the Erie Canal to traverse the Niagara Escarpment, the cliff band that also forms Niagara Falls. During the nineteenth-century, a lot of people moved west (some voluntarily, others forced) and a lot of agricultural products moved east through the canal. The Erie Canal is the reason NYC outpaced the other cities on the eastern seaboard. Today, most of the boat traffic is cruising the Great Loop.
We'll have a vegetarian buffet and delicious nonalcoholic drinks. Please feel free to bring beer or wine if you like. Or just show up!
